What if the faith, power, passion, prayer, and mission we see in the early church could become our story too?
In this opening sermon of our “Lord, Do It Again” series, we begin our journey through the book of Acts and discover that Acts isn’t simply the story of what God did 2,000 years ago, it’s the continuing story of what Jesus is doing through His Church today.
As Jesus ascends into heaven, the disciples are told not to simply stand looking upward, but to receive the power of the Holy Spirit and become His witnesses “to the ends of the earth.” We explore what it means to live with our eyes on Jesus while also getting on with the mission He has given us.
Sunday is not more Christian than Monday. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church empowers us to bring the kingdom of God into our workplaces, families, communities, neighbourhoods, and everyday lives.
This message challenges us to:
• Look to Jesus while actively engaging in His mission
• Receive the power of the Holy Spirit
• Live as witnesses to what Jesus has done in our lives
• Bring the kingdom of God into the ordinary places we live and work
• Cross boundaries and reach people who are different from us
• Pray boldly: “Lord, do it again.”
