What would you ask Jesus if you knew you only had one night left with Him? In John 14, four disciples - Peter, Thomas, Philip, and Jude - ask Jesus four very different questions as He prepares them for His death, resurrection, and departure to the Father.
Their questions reveal four things we all wrestle with:
• Peter: How can I follow Jesus?
• Thomas: How do I know the way to God?
• Philip: What is God really like?
• Jude: Why doesn't God reveal Himself to everyone?
Jesus' answers point again and again to Himself. He is not simply a teacher who shows us the way - He is the Way. He is the Truth and the Life. He reveals exactly what the Father is like, and through His Spirit He makes His home among His people.
This sermon explores what it means to follow Jesus - not through our own strength or resolve, but through the power of His salvation; to trust Him as the road through life's twists and difficulties; to see the Father through the Son; and to become a community through which God's presence and love are made visible to the world.
